FLAVOR
These Robusta beans are sourced directly from farmers in Kon Tum. After harvesting, the cherries are de-pulped but the mucilage is left intact and then sun-dried. During drying, the natural sugars in the mucilage infuse into the beans, giving the coffee a sweeter, richer flavor than conventional processing methods.

Careful, precise roasting brings out the best quality of ALAMBÉ Kon Tum coffee, making it an excellent choice for Lattes and Cappuccinos.

You can also discover a remarkably different flavor experience by enjoying it as an Americano or Café Crème.

SENSORY EXPERIENCE
Traditionally, coffee is processed using either the “dry process”, where the whole cherries are sun-dried before hulling, or the “wet process”, commonly used for Arabica beans, where the cherries are fermented, washed, and then dried.

In recent years, a third method has gained popularity — particularly for Robusta — the “honey process”, which combines elements of both wet and dry methods. This is also the most complex and technically demanding processing technique.

Farmers begin by pulping the cherries but leave the sticky mucilage layer intact. The beans are then spread out on drying beds and turned every hour for 10–15 days to achieve stable moisture. Throughout the process, they must be carefully monitored, with protective covers to guard against rain and good ventilation to control fermentation. Any mistake, especially during fermentation, can spoil the entire batch and cause significant loss.

Once the beans are fully dried — from the outer layer to the core — the parchment is hulled off, leaving the inner bean protected and clean.

The result is ALAMBÉ Kon Tum, a coffee with bright acidity, a gentle sweetness, and a subtle caramel note — a testament to the precision and care behind its making.

ORIGIN
The remote province of Kon Tum, located in the northernmost part of Vietnam’s Central Highlands, spans 9,689 km² and is home to nearly 500,000 people. About half of its land area is covered by forests, home to a rich diversity of rare plants and birds.

With its tranquil atmosphere, friendly locals, riverfront scenery, and quiet roads, Kon Tum is an inviting destination for travelers seeking to explore small villages where ethnic tribes live in harmony with nature.

This unique environment also makes Kon Tum the perfect place to cultivate Robusta beans using the “honey process” — the foundation of ALAMBÉ Kon Tum coffee.
